DIRTY STITCH (SKOPJE, JULY 2024 | BRASHNAR CREATIVE PROJECT)
a collection of fifteen naturally dyed, dirty stitched and hand-assembled
cotton garments curated on a brashnar creative project july 2024 art
residency in skopje. fast-fashion industry has gone through a huge lost
of its manual labour and distinctive identity and turned into all machine-
made, with little-to-no human engagement institution, where everything
has been standardised. dirty stitch is an idea to bring natural dying,
manual labour and individuality back to garments worn in public space.
pieces below showcase multiple natural dyes(from beetroot, tumeric,
tea, local flowers and walnuts). the project involves 3-d scans
(scaniverse), photographs and animations. dirty stitch (as section of the
project INGALE__BLING_BLING__EXHALE) will be taking part in exhibition
‘breath 2025’ in cica museum in august 2025.
