a research map of gay culture and behaviour in eindhoven through
grindr. what’s the behaviour of gay people next doors? how much in their
dating profile is true, how do they position themselves in this dating gay
bubble? what do gays like, where they meet, how does their culture
shape their dating habits, can gay people find love through an app ‘to
fuck’?
the research consists of around 900 chats from adi’s dating profile on
grindr between july/august 2022 until february 2023. the conversations
have happened before conducting the research (allowing chats to
remain as natural as possible). the document consists of a
contextualisation of gay lingo, kinks, public sex places, understanding
what makes people lie on there and what the lies are.
